Chris Tavlarides developed his love of film in 1988 as an intern at Circle Films. Circle Films, a production and distribution company founded by producers and theater owners Ted and Jim Pedas, backed several award-winning films, including Raising ArizonaBarton FinkBlood SimpleMiller’s Crossing and Caught. The office was an incubator for writers and producers such as crime novelist, George Pelecanos, producer Jim Jacks and producer Chris Zarpas.

Many of Tavlarides’ responsibilities involved film promotions, which inspired him to develop an outdoor advertising business in 1990. Capitol Outdoor is one of the largest out-of-home advertising companies in Washington, DC, and has a national footprint with coveted locations in major markets across the country.

Tavlarides also made strategic investments in SnagFilms and Indiewire, founded by Ted Leonsis and Rick Allen, and soon began investing in and producing his own films including the award-winning, The Good Son: The Life of Ray Boom Boom Mancini, broadcast on NBC, The Culture High, and soon-to-be released, Ice Guardians and Chasing Evel: The Robbie Knievel Story.
